Prism Series Quilt P-1 (2008)
This is one of my first silk and cotton art quilts. It is a theme which I have done occasionally for many years. The Prisms are the primary colors all artist create with and black is the absence of color and white is pure light. There are lightening streaks of German red varigated leaf which is encased and sewn into vinyl. Primarily made of re-cycled silks this piece has a cotton border. It is machine sewn. Other versions made of paper are available.
